Coach Romano from the 18U Gold program circling back to coach our 12U Program!
"Coach Romano has made a significant contribution to Tsunami Softball players over the years and we are excited to see him starting over again with our younger players....
He has coached teams of different calibers and ages and in all cases led them to success. We look forward to him sharing best practices with these players and continuing the Tsunami Winning Tradition!"

Last night Ursula was at her pitching lesson with Diane. A special emphasis was put on working her drop and rise ball. A dad and his 7th grader arrived early for their lesson. We started talking as they observed Ursula pitching the fastest and most precise she has all year. Wouldn't you know that she plays on the 12U Tsunami team was there :). The impression you made to them as well as the girls on the 18U team was considerable. It was the first thing she mentioned, "we got to work out with the big girls at our Tsunami practice".
Thank you for understanding that it is equally important for a club coach to help our young athletes develop the mental as well as the physical part of this game. Many coaches do not have patience for this endeavor. But when they do, their reward is significant. It is not easy to figure out what buttons to push to motivate, relax, discipline and reward each player. Somehow you did so with Ursula and we cant thank you enough!

Having played in the Tsunami Organization for four years has been a very rewarding experience. From the coaches to the players we are all one big family. The coaches are as hardworking as the players are to get us to our highest potential. Every coach gives 150% to every player to achieve success. This past season, I have had the best team to play with. The Tsunami Organization is a great support system. We treat each other like sisters. If I had to pick a team all over again I would definitely pick the East Coast Tsunami Organization in a heart beat.

Having played with the Tsunamis when I was young and moving around on different club teams since then, I have always found that there is no place like the Tsunami Organization. This fall and summer season back with the Tsunamis and the great coaching staff has reminded me why I play, why I love the game, and why there is no place better to be than with the Tsunamis. I was incredibly lucky to have Coach Ray coaching my team this year. He has developed me so much as a player and has done nothing but encourage his players to always work hard and better their skills and I am thankful to have been lucky to have such a great coach and a great season.

I started playing softball at 5 years old and after 6 years of playing softball I was not certain about wanting to continue to play. When I was introduced to the Tsunami organization and experienced how much the coaches cared, that is when I realized how much I love the game. After a short move to a different organization in the Summer of 2012, I realized not all coaches are as experienced and caring as I had experienced with Tsunami coaches. I wanted to return to the organization and decided to try out for Tsunami in Fall of 2012 and when I went back, the Tsunami Team immediately welcomed me. Through this fall and summer I had the privilege to be coached by Jimmy Castelli and Ray Romano and I have improved my mental and physical game at least 100% in the last 2 seasons. This past summer I feel completely connected with my teammates as athletes and also friends. This is all due to the knowledge of our coach and the upbeat and positive environment that
Coach Ray has brought to the team. Joining and being a part of Tsunami has been an awesome experience for me and my family, we look forward to my last few seasons with Tsunami.

Ally has made what I believe will be life long friendships from this team and has grown tremendously as a player. Obviously the goal of playing for a "showcase" team is to get the attention of college coaches, and especially during the last few tournys, Ally has had a multitude of new contacts that will provide her with several choices for her educational endeavors. We will be forever grateful to you and the organization for providing those opportunities.

Dear Ray:
I have been involved with organized sports between my daughter and son for well over ten years. During that time I have only commented one other time about my experience in dealing with coaches and teams in general. By nature I kind of keep to myself and rarely, if ever, provide my opinion about coaches or teams that my children have played on. With that being said, I have to honestly say that Monica playing for tsunami was an invaluable and great experience. All the time that you and Jimmy have spent coaching the girls and speaking to college coaches on their behalf has not gone unnoticed by me. Both you and Jimmy should truly be commended for unselfishly devoting as much time as you do to the program with no reward, except for an occasional thank you from a parent or player. You and Jimmy should take great pride in knowing that you have created a top flight team that has it 's foundation on what you have taught the girls, both on and off the softball field. Thanks for everything, good luck with your younger daughter's team.
